What is this?

Grindly is a desktop companion that gamifies your daily computer usage. It tracks your active window, categorizes your activity into skills, and rewards you with XP, loot, gold, and achievements — no manual input required. Just do what you normally do.

Features:

13 Skills to Level

Developer, Designer, Gamer, Communicator, Researcher, Creator, Learner, Listener, Farmer, Warrior, Crafter, Chef, and Grindly — each with 99 levels and a prestige system. Your real app usage feeds the first 8; the rest level up through in-game activities.

Loot & Equipment

100+ items across 5 rarities (Common → Mythic). Equip gear to boost your stats, open chests earned from sessions, and trade with other players on the Marketplace.

Arena Combat

Fight through 6 zones with 18 mobs and 6 bosses in turn-based battles. Equip food buffs, upgrade your Warrior skill, and craft endgame gear from boss drops.

Farming

Plant 9 seed types across 16 farm slots. Manage crop rot, upgrade your Farmhouse (10 levels), unlock Seed Zips, and grow ingredients for Cooking.

Cooking

12 multi-step recipes with 6 upgradeable instruments. Discover recipes in the Cauldron, master them for bonus yields, and cook food to heal in the Arena.

Crafting

24 recipes — from basic Compost to the Mythic Dragonfire Blade. Higher Crafter levels mean faster crafts and double output chances.

40+ Achievements

Unlock cosmetics, XP boosts, and stat bonuses by hitting milestones across all game systems.

Social

Add friends, chat in real time, compare levels on the Leaderboard, and trade items on the player Marketplace. See what your friends are doing right now with live presence.

Daily Streaks

Keep your streak alive for up to 1.5x XP multiplier. Miss a day and it resets.

How It Works

1. Launch Grindly — it sits in your system tray
2. Use your PC normally
3. Grindly detects your active app and categorizes it (coding, browsing, gaming, music, etc.) 
4. You earn skill XP every session based on what you did
5. Level up, open loot, fight bosses, farm crops, craft gear

No browser extension. No manual logging. Just play your life.

• - Windows only (uses Win32 APIs for activity tracking)
• - Activity tracking is 100% local — your data stays on your machine
• - Cloud features (friends, leaderboard, marketplace) are optional via Supabase
• - SmartScreen may warn on first launch — click "More info" → "Run anyway"
